Infrastructure Engineer
Build the infrastructure and integrations that connect General Magic to the systems brokers run on.
About the role
We're building an AI operating system for insurance brokerages. Our agents handle the full service stack: quotes, renewals, endorsements, intake, and claims triage, trained on carrier guidelines, appetite guides, and underwriting manuals, and wired directly into the systems brokers already run on. The goal is to give every brokerage the capacity of a team twice its size, without adding headcount.
We're hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to own the foundation that makes that possible: the cloud infrastructure our platform runs on, and the integrations that connect us into every broker management system, carrier portal, and customer channel we touch. You'll build the API connectivity that turns a new integration from a months-long project into something we ship in days. You'll work directly with the founders.
What you’ll be doing
Build and maintain the API connectivity that integrates our platform into broker management systems (Applied Epic, Vertafore) and carrier systems, so onboarding a new partner is fast and reliable.
Own our cloud infrastructure on GCP: design environments that are scalable, secure, and highly available in a regulated industry.
Lead customer integrations end to end, from first technical scoping with a brokerage to a live, production connection.
Automate provisioning and deployment using infrastructure-as-code, so we ship to production every week without breaking things.
Build monitoring, alerting, and recovery so issues are caught early and downtime stays near zero.
Implement the security and compliance controls a regulated insurance environment demands, working alongside our SOC 2 and ISO posture.
Work directly with brokerages to turn messy real-world systems into clean, deployable integrations.
About you
3+ years building and operating production infrastructure, ideally on GCP (AWS or Azure experience translates).
Strong Python skills, comfortable scripting, automating, and building integration services.
Experience building and maintaining API integrations against third-party or partner systems, especially messy or legacy ones.
Comfortable with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD.
You ship fast and care about what lands in production, not just what works in a demo.
Interested in solving hard problems in regulated industries. Insurance experience is a plus, not a requirement.
A bias for reliability and security, since brokers and their customers depend on this every day.
